The international ReTEC Trade Fair for Used Technology had a very international public in the Augsburg trade fair center on three days. Almost 2,000 interested experts and buyers from 57 countries came to the ReTEC to find and purchase used machines and plants.
Augsburg – The trade fair location of Augsburg once again proved itself with the holding of an international trade fair. Munich airport was connected directly to the trade fair by means of a bus shuttle. Right from the start the exhibitors, trade associations and the trade fair organizer AFAG were aware of a very high number of international trade visitors. They came particularly from emerging and developing countries, but also from South America and the USA. Also international visitors of the parallel organized Hannover Messe came to the ReTEC in Augsburg.
The ReTEC presented used machines for all branches of industry. The segments in greatest demand were the fields of metal processing, industrial trucks and agricultural machinery. Through the concurrent combination of the ReTEC with the German Tree Care Conference (Deutsche Baumpflegetage) there was increased demand and significant added value particularly for the suppliers of agricultural machinery and special tools.
In this first time of holding the RETEC, the numbers of both exhibiting companies and trade visitors were below the expected level. Talks are currently taking place for the next international trade fair for used technology. The visitors’ surprisingly high investment confidence brought successful sales for the exhibitors and direct deals at the trade fair, and signalizes good follow-up business after the fair. This means that the ReTEC, despite the high online trade quota in this special market, has a high demand potential. It shows that the direct communication between the exhibitors and the demand side is greatly appreciated, despite strong competition through the international platforms. A large number of the exhibitors were thus very much for the format of a used technology trade fair as a platform for their offers, even if the hoped-for quantity has not yet been achieved. The investment confidence and high internationality of the ReTEC 2017 visitors already has high quality.
