Subcon press release: A focus for UK manufacturing

Three key engineering industry events come together from 2 to 4 June 2015, when the Advanced Manufacturing Show returns to the NEC, Birmingham, alongside Subcon, the UK’s only dedicated show for subcontract manufacturing, and a new event focused on design and product development, The Engineer Design & Innovation Show.

Together, the three shows will feature over 500 exhibitors and provide a focal point for engineering-based manufacturing in the UK across all sectors and disciplines.

The Subcon show gives OEMs and higher tier suppliers access to top-quality subcontractors, the Advanced Manufacturing Show focuses on the tools and advanced manufacturing technology that OEMs and their suppliers need to make these products in-house, and The Engineer Design & Innovation show focuses on the tools and components design engineers need to bring new products to market
The three shows encompass the complete value chain for engineering-based manufacturing and will be complemented by a high-level, free conference focusing on innovative technologies, ‘show and tell’ case studies and the issues that are driving UK manufacturing.
The Advanced Manufacturing Show returns after its successful launch in 2013 and focuses on all aspects of production engineering technology. The event features dedicated zones for Machine Tools, Cutting Tools, Measurement, Machine Tool Accessories and Lasers. Exhibitors already confirmed include Renishaw, Delcam, Aberlink and Laser Lines.

For those companies that wish to contract out some or all of their manufacturing activities, Subcon is the UK’s only event that is completely focused on contract and subcontract manufacturing across all sectors and technologies. Services offered by exhibitors cover machining, moulding, fabrication, electronics assembly, casting and forging, finishing and treatments. The 2015 event will include a new Castings and Forgings Zone, an International Suppliers Zone and a dedicated zone featuring members of the British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association (BTMA).
The final, key, piece in the jigsaw is The Engineer Design & Innovation Show. This new event will focus on everything an engineering designer needs to do their job: from high-end products and services used to realize their concepts – such as new design software and 3D printing – to the components, materials and innovative technologies that go into these next-generation products.
The show features dedicated zones for Software, 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, Materials & Composites and Electronics.
Grant Burgham, Business Development and Portfolio Director at Centaur Exhibitions, said: “Together the three shows will provide a focused and all-encompassing event for engineers looking for the design tools, components and the means to manufacture their products – whether in-house or using an outside supplier.”
