BLECH Russia 2015 attracts leading sheet metal firms

BLECH Russia 2015, the 4th International Exhibition for sheet metal working, successfully took place at St Petersburg’s ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25 to 27 March.

Taking part in this year’s event were leading companies in this key sector from 11 countries – Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey, showcasing the latest innovations in sheet metal processing equipment, products and technologies.

Companies presenting new products and technologies included ASTES4 from Switzerland, with a licensed production system for classification, processing and utilisation of a wide range of materials. Yamazaki Mazak from Japan displayed the Optiplex Fiber II new generation laser processing machine, and a spring coiling machine developed by the global leader WAFIOS was showcased by Swiss company Galika. Prima Power from Russia demonstrated the E5х turret punch press and the eP-0520 servo electric press brake, while Finnish company FinJet, supplier of water jet systems and technologies, presented innovative solutions for cutting parts with challenging surfaces.

Supporting the exhibition on 26 March was a seminar organised by Weber Comechanics covering the latest technologies for sheet metal working from leading manufacturers, their applications and implementation.

Co-located with BLECH Russia 2015 in St Petersburg was the third edition of Fastener Fair Russia, dedicated to the country’s market for fastener and fixing technologies, and also organised by Restec Brooks. The show additionally shared its venue with the St Petersburg Technical Fair and Automechanika St Petersburg covering automotive spares and maintenance, together with the associated online ‘matchmaking’ business-to-business service and Autoprom Russia conference.

A welcome speech at the opening ceremony for the combined exhibitions was given by the Governor of St Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko. Also present were the Governor of Voronezh Region Alexey Gordeev, Head of the Simferopol Administration Gennady Bakharev, representatives of the St Petersburg administration and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Sergey Katyrin, plus industrialists and media.

Together, the four events attracted more than 7,000 trade visitors. Many companies taking part in BLECH Russia stated that they achieved their goals despite a challenging business environment and most exhibitors at this year’s event confirmed their intention to participate in the next BLECH Russia show in spring 2017.
