Moulding Expo 2017: Bringing tool buyers and toolmakers closer together(30 May to 2 June 2017)

Bringing tool buyers and toolmakers closer together

The German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) and
Moulding Expo intensify their cooperation / Successful forum will again be held parallel to the trade fair in 2017

Supply and demand will come even closer together at Moulding Expo 2017. In 2017 the BME Forum "Purchasing Tools" will be held in parallel to the trade fair at the Messe Stuttgart site, directly adjacent to the show itself. "Naturally this is ideal for our exhibitors", explains Florian Niethammer, Team Leader of Moulding Expo, "as their customers can firstly educate themselves further and then come directly to them in the exhibition centre." Chereén Semrau, Project Manager with the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME), confirms the benefits for buyers through even closer cooperation. "First and foremost, the exchange of information stimulated by buyers´ practical experiences, and then the ability for them to visit the exhibition, which showcases the products and services which tool construction, pattern and mould making offers on the market. This is an outstanding combination for our members."

The BME is concisely dealing with current issues for buyers in a forum entitled "Costs, quality and risks under control". "International procurement markets or the influence of digitalisation and networking on toolmaking and tool procurement are two issues we have focused on and which our members intensively discuss. The forum offers tool buyers the opportunity to discuss specific problems and obtain new ideas from professional colleagues," Chereén Semrau continues.

Open communication between buyers and toolmakers is to be further simplified in 2017 in conjunction with Messe Stuttgart and the partner associations of Moulding Expo. What is more, guided tours for buyers at Moulding Expo 2017 will be geared more specifically towards the interests of buyers and will be done in small groups.

Moulding Expo – International trade fair for tool construction, pattern and mould making

Moulding Expo focuses on tool, pattern and mould making with injection moulding, die-cast, casting, punching and forming tools, as well as various pattern-making and prototyping processes. Components and accessories, machine tools, processing tools, measuring technology and special machines, software, systems and services for tool, pattern and moulding making complete the range of exhibits. Technical forums and special exhibitions round off the diverse programme. 620 exhibitors attended the first exhibition in 2015, which was visited by 14,000 trade visitors.

Messe Stuttgart is the organiser of Moulding Expo. It is supported by the Federal Association of Model and Mould Making (MF), the Association of German Mechanical Engineering and Plant Construction (VDMA), the Association of German Tool and Mould Makers (VDWF), the Society of German Machine Tool Factories (VDW) and the International Special Tooling and Machining Association (ISTMA).
