Aiming to be one of the best 10 economies in the world, Turkey foresees an export volume of 500 billion dollars and an income per capita of 25,000 dollars in order to fulfill its vision for 2023. Machine Tools and Machinery Manufacturing industries, being the biggest and most strategic industries under Turkey´s vision for 2023, have started an important cooperation within MAKTEK Eurasia Fair. Supported by the cooperation of two non-governmental organizations with industrial authority, namely Machine Tools Industrialists and Businessmen´s Association (TİAD) and Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 Fair will take place in October 11-16th, 2016 at TUYAP Fair Convention and Congress
Center in Istanbul.

Along with non-governmental organizations in the machinery and manufacturing industries that directly affect and determine the economy of Turkey by helping to make a difference in global markets and to aid in international competition, MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 Fair is also supported by Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and is considered an important actor in the progress of coordination and innovative cooperation between these two strategic industries.

The most important Eurasia-based manufacturers and distributers of machine tools which are used as the most basic production tool in machinery and manufacturing industries, will come together in MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 Fair. The fair will welcome more than 1,000 leading companies and representatives from Turkey and other countries. MAKTEK Eurasia has become one of the most preferred fairs in the world with the national participations of Germany, France, Spain, China, England and Taiwan. More than 80,000 people are expected to visit this biggest gathering of the industry in Eurasia.
1 billion dollars worth of business volume in MAKTEK Eurasia 2016

Considered to be one of the top three when it comes to machine tools industry fairs in Europe, MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 is expecting more than 1,000 participants from Turkey and abroad.  Combining 120,000 m² of indoor space at TUYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center with the synergy between the two biggest organizations in the industry, the fair is predicted to be the center of attention for participants and visitors.  MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 is expecting 80,000 visitors.

Considering the 600 million dollars worth of business volume established during the fair in 2012 and the increase of 1,5 times to 1 billion dollars in 2014, the fair in 2016 expects a business volume of 1.3 billion dollars.

MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 shapes the market in Turkey
According to TİAD´s statistics, consumption of machine tools in Turkey was 1.23 billion dollars in 2014. As per consumption, Turkey placed 12th on the list, which was dominated by China with 31.7 billion dollars. China was also the leader in the production of machine tools with 23.8 billion dollars whereas Turkey was again the 12th country with 722 million dollars worth of production. Germany was the number 1 country among the worldwide machine tools sector export list with 8.98 billion dollars. Turkey ranked 15th on the list with 484 million dollars worth of exports. As per the machine tools imports, China ranked first with 11.2 billion dollars, while Turkey was the 8th with 989 million dollars.
Taking into account the numbers from the first half of 2015 and Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) statistics, TİAD predicts that the machine tools industry will see a growth of 2.5% in consumption, 2% in imports, 2.5% in production and 1% in exports by the end of the year. In the context of machine tools industries, Turkey has an interesting position in the world and compared to the global machine tools market, it is safe to say that Turkish market remain stabilized. This is due to the fact that the machine tools industry in Turkey kept growing every year, except 2009 which was plagued by a global crisis. Therefore in 2015, demand for machine tools is expected to increase. In this regard, it is clear that MAKTEK Eurasia 2016 will drive the market even more.

60-65% of all investment type machinery exports are realized by 171 Machinery Manufacturers Association (MIB) members. Companies that are very well-known in their own industries are exporting investment type machinery to more than 100 countries. When it comes to areas of importance in international trade, Europe is followed by Middle East, Central Asia, East Asia and America respectively. Total amount of exports by MIB members were 493.6 million dollars in 2014, experiencing a growth of 6.14% from the previous year. According to Gardner´s Machine Tools Report dated April 15th, 2015, machine tools export of Turkey increased to 484 million dollars in comparison to 471.40 million dollars in 2013. With this achievement, Turkey´s ranking among machine tools exporters moved to 15th place.
