AMB Iran: Even larger and more international

Substantial increase in the number of exhibitors and the occupied hall space / Total success: German Pavilion

Two months before the start of the event AMB Iran 2017, Exhibition for Metal Working, is now already larger and more international than the première in May last year. The current figure stands at 170 exhibitors from 16 countries, which means that the number of participants from 2016 (111 exhibitors, 12 countries) has been clearly exceeded. The occupied hall space, i.e. 10,000 gross square metres (2016: 4,176 gross square metres), holds out the promise of a successful event at the Shar-e-Aftab Complex in Tehran from 23 to 26 May 2017. Ulrich Kromer, President of Messe Stuttgart, is delighted: "The substantial increase in the number of exhibitors on far more exhibition space and a high degree of internationality make us very optimistic about the event in May."

The German Pavilion, for which the German Machine Tool Builders´ Association (VDW) submitted an application to the German Ministry of Economics and Energy for 2017, is a total success with over 50 companies. AMB Iran will be part of the official foreign exhibition programme of the German federal government for the first time. The German Pavilion will cover an area of more than 1,000 net square metres straightaway.

"Our expectations have been exceeded," said Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Managing Director of the VDW. "It shows the great interest of German manufacturers in the Iranian market with its immense pent-up demand for investments in modern production engineering. "By attending AMB Iran, German manufacturers want to provide the impetus for future business," added Schäfer.

The registered companies in the German Pavilion represent the following areas: machine tools, tools, tooling systems, chucking tools, measuring and testing systems, surface technology and accessories. With a total of 68 exhibitors, Germany will also be well-represented among the 16 countries participating in AMB Iran. Companies from the following countries have registered for the second AMB Iran: China, Germany, France, India, Iran, Italy, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Turkey and Brazil.

The number of registered Iranian exhibitors is also very pleasing. The close relations between Messe Stuttgart/ VDW and the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Iranian Foreign Trade Association (TPO) are paying off. The organisers are also cooperating with more than 25 industrial and trade associations in Iran in order to perfectly align AMB Iran to the needs of the industry and trade visitors.
